I started Monday morning by breaking my car key off in the ignition of my car. Before you assume I have biceps of steel, allow me to explain. The key was fifteen years old. It was the kind with the plastic clicky-fob-thing that allows you to unlock your door from ten feet away if you’re lucky. Anyway, the plastic fob part had started to separate from the actual key part and when I turned it, it cracked right off.
This is not how anyone wants to start their Monday morning. Luckily I was able to use needle nose pliers to remove the broken key and then I used a spare to drive myself to work. At work, I felt foggy-headed. I dropped multiple pens and pencils and I found myself staring at kids trying to remember their names. I blamed the brain-fog on my new sinus meds.
Monday evening I sucked down a giant cup of coffee and wrote 600 words on Book 3. Then I sat on the couch and promptly fell asleep until ten, when I woke up and went to bed. Tuesday morning, I woke up with a fever and chills, so I called off work and slept until one in the afternoon. Once the fever was gone I felt better. Now, these two weird days leave me wondering, what will happen Wednesday? I’m hoping for a calm even boring type of day with no key issues, no fevers, and no long unplanned naps. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.
What’s the weirdest day you’ve had lately?
