What is UtopYA?  According to the the official webpage it is:

An uplifting, collaborative and educational conference for those who love supernatural and contemporary young adult and new adult fiction!

Panels filled with writers and experts in the publishing and entertainment industries will share with established and aspiring authors and screenwriters their tips to improve craft and advance careers, as well as FUN panels for fans where then can directly influence and interact with their favorite writers!

But, it is so much more than that. The first year I went to UtopYA, I learned about the Lift as you Climb theory. Rather than competing with each other, authors should help pull one another along because there is room for an untold number of books on Amazon. Readers who read a lot, read a book in a day. Authors who help promote one another will gain bigger audiences and develop a larger network allowing them to reach more people.

I’ve said this in previous posts, but everyone at UtopYA is nice. Every single person. And most authors/readers/bloggers are introverts, and it’s hard to talk to strangers, but everyone at this conference has one thing in common..a love of books.
