How do you feel about authors who kill off characters? I’m not talking about main characters, because unless you write for Supernatural that is reprehensible. But back to the topic at hand, how do you feel about authors who kill off  secondary characters that you’ve grown to know and love over a few books?

Not that I’m asking for any particular reason…

Sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet, or to bring two characters together, or to tear them apart. So what are your thoughts? Have you ever been annoyed with an author after they killed off a character? I am still annoyed with Supernatural for killing off Charlie. I wanted a spinoff show where Charlie and Dorothy had adventures and kicked ass.
