Amanda Troyer wrote a post about her creative process and tagged me in it.
1) What am I working on?
The second book in my shape-shifting dragon series, Bridges Burned, is on my editor’s desk, so I’m working on book three of Bryn’s adventures. I’m also working on a New Adult book which is kind of like The Matrix meets La Femme Nikita. Dezirae Knight is recruited/kidnapped to work as a spy due to her Psi powers. She can reach into someone’s brain and read or alter their memories/perception.
2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?
There is a lot of great paranormal YA out there. Going Down In Flames is different because it’s about shape-shifting dragons and because snarky humor is woven throughout.
3) Why do I write what I do?
I loved Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. His snarky dialogue inspired me to write a snarky character of my own. If you’ve never watched Buffy, go find it on Netflix or Amazon. You’ll thank me later.
4) How does my writing process work?
I wish I could say that I outline the story and create amazing story board collages. The truth is, I start with a character and put them in an interesting situation. I know the beginning, the high points and the end. In between I write whatever comes into my head. It is not an exact science.
